AbstractUpdate investigations of manual control tasks in Moscow aviation institute.

Prof. Efremov A.V. Ph.D.

Dean of Aeronautical school.

There are considered the several activities in manual control area fulfilled in Pilot Vehicle lab of Moscow aviation institute. The first one are some methodological aspects of pilot behavior investigations:

- selection of input signal parameters for pilot-aircraft system experimental investigations provided the agreement between the results with the results of mathematical modeling of the same system. Necessity of the developed technique is discussed and there is shown its efficiency.

- making more precise of pilot behavior model with taking into account thresholds in visual perception, more complicated model of neuromuscular system and necessity of the modification of the inner (proprioceptive) loop.

The next activity is the development of simulator with stereoscopic computer-generated visual system. The stages of the project, the hardware used for realization and developed software are discussed.

The design of prediction display and its integration with the flight control system is the subject of the next project. There are considered the general solution developed for a number of piloting path control tasks (landing on the runway and carrier landing, terrain following and refueling). The optimization procedure of display command signals is discussed and results of ground-based investigations are considered.
