AbstractCurrent projects include support for STI, Hoh Aeronautics, and RHE in-house software and engineering analysis development, including a demo version for interested ACGSC members as announced at meeting 115.

We are supporting STI with a shipboard environment and dynamic interface simulation (MH-60/DDG) that includes ship motion and turbulence disturbances. We are also working with Hoh Aeronautics to supply simulation math models for use on the NASA VMS simulator facility this summer. This project, in turn, will support the FAA and Bell Helicopter study of advanced flight control systems and displays for commercial rotorcraft. And we are continuing our in-house development of the RHE Simulation Software Suite, an integrated RotorGen2, Simulink and FlightGear engineering and analysis too. The demonstration version of the RGenWin helicopter math model application continues with a reduced priority to the aforementioned projects.

One important point of our presentation is our effort to improve and expand the current RotorGen2 math model software. The current emphasis is methodology for achieving good math model accuracy with respect to available validation data. This will maximize the minimal-complexity feature. Additionally we are incorporating the ability to simulate both fixed-wing and tilt-rotor aircraft as well as our current capability for single- and tandem-rotor helicopters.
