AbstractSeveral on-going and new Navy programs were discussed. The E2C early warning aircraft and the C2 are getting new eight blade propellers and associated prop pitch controllers. The new Advanced Hawkeye will be an upgrade to the E2C, primarily in the radar and mission avionics areas. Advanced Hawkeye is the largest new Navy aircraft program in dollars other then the Joint Strike Fighter. Program CDR is scheduled for October, 2005.

Now that the legacy F-18 has new flight control software, a flight test program is planned to expand the aircraft’s envelope and remove some NATOPS restrictions, particularly for asymmetric weapons loadings.

Work has started on the EA-18G, which will be an electronic warfare version of the Super Hornet and destined to replace the EA-6B Prowler beginning in late 2009.

The EA-6B is getting a new digital replacement stability augmentation and autopilot system to replace the current old analog system, which is exhibiting poor reliability.
